After a month, this piece is finally completed, and I am proud as a peacock of it.

More love probably went into this piece than any others I've done in the past, and I didn't think I was ever going to finish this. I adore these two characters. They're personal characters of mine and my boyfriend's.

The guy is Captain Valen Spade (Pronounced VAY-LIN Spade). 30 years old, silver-spoon privileged, military (Naval) academy drop out gone bad. He's a pirate, and *seriously* cool. He's logical, sauve, charismatic, and a brilliant businessman. Of course, his "business" just so happens to deal, well, in "illegal" matters. He's also a great poker player who loves the occasional cigar and collecting rare and unusual odds and ends with all the money he makes in his rather lucrative career path.

The girl is my character, Lyria (Pronounced LEER-IA), 22 years old. She's from a completely opposite world than Spade. She's the daughter of a drunken whore and she doesn't know who her father is. She's dirt poor, always has been, and makes her living singing. She's sarcastic, dry and extremely logical-minded. She sings, plays the mandolin, flute, and harmonica, and can spin an awesome tale. She is extremely confident, despite her trashy background.

So, her and Spade are well, lovers. They're a fun couple because they're not mushy at *all*. But deep, deep, deep down they love each other. And heck, Lyria gets food and shelter on his ship just for singing songs and being his "friend with benefits." And Spade gets a gorgeous blonde. Mutually beneficial. Very logical. Haha :b

And yes, they're sailing in the sky. They sail in the air in their world! Very cool stuff.
